about
Gary G. Cochran

Author of [Jack Mercer Suspense and Thriller Series]

Gary G. Cochran qualified for command by putting a missile into an aircraft — an unmanned drone over the desert at Twentynine Palms. He led one of three surface-to-air missile platoons in the Marine Corps, based in North Carolina. In Vietnam he served as a direct air support officer, calling in close air support for Marines in combat.
Years later a commercial airliner went down. He had flown out of the same airport the week before, and he knew better than most passengers how little stood between a shoulder-fired missile and a civilian aircraft. That became his first novel. He has worked the same way ever since — journals full of real problems waiting to happen, and novels that come out of the journals.
He holds a degree in economics and Spanish from Brigham Young University, has founded internet technology training companies that did business in all fifty states and on five continents, and has been to more than forty countries. Somewhere in it he learned that the dangerous conversations happen quietly, in rooms where nobody raises their voice — and that money moves faster than any weapon.
That is the world Jack Mercer and Elena Markham live in. Cochran is a pilot and lives in a small mountain community in Utah at seven thousand feet.
